London, Faber and Faber, 1937
'It is popular superstition that men as a rule do not like Sweets, and that they will turn from the most tempting and elaborate confection to seek refuge with a simple savoury or a piece of cheese. My experience has taught me so much the reverse that I have ventured to set down here a purely personal selection of Sweets, but one which I fancy will also appeal to others of my sex.'
First edition, first impression, with illustrated title page by Edward Bawden. 8vo. Publisher's grey boards printed in green and red after a design by Bawden, in the Bawden designed dust jacket. Bookshop label to front pastedown, some minor foxing early and late but a superior copy in the lightly toned price-clipped dust jacket with a trace of the all too typical rubbing.
