Published 9 years after the first, it is a sequel as much as a second volume and tackles the subject differently from the first, being more of a catch all guide to the different areas of French cuisine rather than being an introduction to the classics and techniques.The many illustrations were done after photographs by Paul Child, Julia's husband and long time contributor to her books.
