A fresh copy of Pound's remarkable early work on the life and short career of the ill-fated genius. Gaudier portraits of Pound were amongst the most vivid and powerful portrait of ANYONE made in the twentieth century. This copiously illustrated biography remain a key work the artist. Pound was also executor of the estate. Copies in this condition and in the first issue binding are very uncommon.
First edition, first impression, first issue binding; 4to; photographic illustrations throughout, text block somewhat toned; publisher's green cloth, embossed device to upper board in blind, titles to upper board and spine gilt, terminal and endpapers significantly browned as usual, but a particularly nice copy in the beautiful first issue binding.
