Shaw Gives Himself Away.
An Autobiographical Miscellany
Stock Code 123539
Newtown, Montgomery, Gregynog Press, 1939.
The text was printed in Baskerville type on Arnold & Foster pale green-tinted handmade paper. Shaw however extended the production of this work due to much interference for example the frontispiece portrait by Farleigh had to be altered many times. It is an impressive example of book production.
Limited edition numbered 56 of 300 copies. Large 8vo ( 25 x 18 cm), wood-engraved portrait of Shaw by John Farleigh, slight browning to edges of front free endpaper; bound by Greynog Press in full dark green morocco with orange morocco onlays designed by Paul Nash, spine with title in cut out in orange, light scuff mark on upper cover and very slight wear to the edges of the spine; overall a very good copy; xi, 188pp.
