This is an exceptionally rare set, both as a title but also in having both volumes, the second published the year after the first. Volume I of this set is the revised second edition and given the set is uniformly bound and uniformly aged one assumes purchased together, probably making vol. II the first printing.
Second edition, revised [vol I, vol II ?first]; 2 vols, 8vo, (22.5 x 15 cm); each vol with integral pouch to rear board containing folding diagrams, 20 and 29 respectively, numerous further diagrams and illustrations throughout both vols; publisher's brown cloth, rubbed and worn on extremities, a few marks but robust and internally, including folding maps, fine.
