The second volume in the Villa Seurat series, published in an edition of 1,000 copies by Obelisk, which had published Tropic of Cancer in 1934 and Black Spring in 1936 and would publish Tropic of Capricorn in 1939.

First edition; large 8vo (22 x 15.5 cm); age-toning to pages, occasional small marks or stain throughout, very small hole to p.70, some spotting, most prominent to pp128-129, else good for age; publisher's wraps printed in black and turquoise, some rubbing to edges, general light soiling, tear to front lower joint with old sellotape marks, but spine still firm, an interesting copy of a notoriously fragile item; 324pp.
