An excellent example of this early nineteenth-century Family Bible, which draws on a variety of Christian authorities including Calmet, Locke, Thomas Newton, Bishop of Bristol, etc., handsomely bound in contemporary red-straight grained morocco tooled in gilt to a geocentric strapwork design.

8vo (23.5 x 15 cm); engraved vignette title, bound without frontispiece, old bookseller's label to front pastedown, slight spotting to title and occasional throughout; contemporary straight-grained red morocco, covers tooled in gilt with a geocentric strapwork design within blind roll borders and triple gilt filets, gilt spine in 5 compartments, all edges gilt, a little rubbed with minor wear, very good.
