Sochi Singers is the fourth book produced under the auspices of the Sochi Project (2009-2013), a self-financed joint documentary project initiated by photographer Rob Hornstra and writer Arnold van Bruggen. They aimed to document the changes in Sochi, Russia, resulting from the city being named host of the 2014 Winter Olympics. 'The Winter Olympics in a subtropical resort. Surrounded by conflict zones. The most expensive Games ever. This is the idea being realized in Sochi'. The project resulted in eight primary book publications.
