A thrilling account of the capture of Ghazni; the pursuit over rough terrain of Dost Mohammed Khan with 100 British Indian cavalry and 2000 Afghan cavalry under Haji Khan who blocked Outram's pursuit and was subsequently tried for treason; the pacification of disaffected tribes between Kabul and Kandahar; and the successful siege of Kalat.
