First edition thus; 6 vols bound in 5, 8vo (18 x 11.5 cm); illustrated colour frontispiece to each volume, rare, very light spotting to a few volumes, primarily Emma, occasional, sporadic spot, smudge or mark throughout, all minor, slight age-toning as expected, else remarkably clean and bright; later navy morocco over blue cloth boards, spine in 6 compartments with gilt lettering to second and third, gilt floral decal to others, top edges gilt, general signs of wear to all volumes, light scuffing at extremities, some corners slightly bumped, light stain to upper board of Emma, slightly lifting cloth, few small marks to upper and lower boards of Mansfield Park, spines toned and a little scuffed to extremities, gilt slightly faded, all issues minor, otherwise a handsome set of novels; [xii], 308pp, [viii], 336pp, [viii], 396pp, [viii], 395pp, [1]pp, [viii], 432pp.
