First complete edition; 8vo (18.5 x 12.5 cm); fold out family tree tipped-in at front, small tear to p.833, occasional very minor mark throughout, otherwise very good condition; modern full blue morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, one-line gilt-panelled back, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, all edges gilt, spine slightly faded, else a handsome, finely-bound first edition;[xvi], 1104pp.
