An account of the successful British expedition led by Hunt in 1953. He subsequently became the "father figure" of post-war British mountaineering and was president of the Alpine Club (1956-8). This is good example of this great tale of men against the mountain.First edition.8vo (23 x 16 cm), inscribed by the author on title-page, colour photographic frontispiece and 55 other photographic plates including 7 in colour, 3 maps and several other illustrations in the text; publisher blue cloth gilt, original pictorial dust wrapper; overall a very good copy.
