Third edition. 8vo (18 x 12 cm), xx, 950pp, 4pp adverts at rear, profusely illustrated with diagrams, plans and maps, some folding and some coloured, ink writing on front free endpaper; publisher's blue cloth gilt, rubbed and slightly worn; overall a very good copy.
