This edition is signed twice by Twain, both under his real name and pseudonym, with a printed note signed by the editor explaining that the flyleaves were signed by Twain in 1906 in anticipation of this edition.Samuel Langhorne Clemens (1835-1910), otherwise known as Mark Twain, the author of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1876) and its sequel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (185), the latter often called 'the Great American Novel'.
Definitive edition, one of 1024 sets, flyleaf of vol. one signed twice by the author, with signed accreditation leaf by the editor; 37 volumes, 8vo; illustrated with numerous engraved plates, a little mellow stain to signed limitation leaf, just a hint of marginal toning to some paper stock, but internally bright overall; fine full red morocco gilt by Stikeman, with green morocco inlaid doublures (blue in Autobiography volumes), top edges gilt, others uncut; a fine set.
