Amongst his works the plates of Caramania are of particular interest as they were not reprinted in any of the other Mayer compilations. Josiah Spode used them for an eponymous set of blue and white transfer ware pottery.
First edition, folio (47.5 x 34 cm); text in English and French (including additional title), 24 hand-coloured aquatint plates; contemporary full green with an elaborate gilt frame to boards and gilt lettering to upper board and spine, all edges gilt, spine with some discreet expert restoration, a fine copy.
