Single volume, illuminated manuscript on paper, in Arabic, complete, 310 leaves, 187 x 135 mm; single column, 15 lines elegant black naskh, some vocalisation in red, surah headings in blue, opening two leaves of text with intricately decorated polychrome borders around circular text-blocks, verses marked with gilt circular devices decorated in orange and blue, catch-words, important divisions of the text marked with ornamental devices to the margins, a few small smudges to text, some light oxidisation and darkening to areas of text, overall good internal condition, contemporary dark leather binding with flap, covers ruled and hand-painted with gilt borders and central sun-like motifs, edges a little worn, hinged and text-block cracked with some gatherings becoming loose, housed in modern drop-box, erroneously described as "Persian manuscript" on spine.
