First edition, first impression; 8vo (20.5 x 14 cm); 10 photographic plates including frontispiece, bookplates to front pastedown and free endpaper recto, endpapers foxed, small area of offsetting to half-title,a few spots to fore-edge but only slightly encroaching onto the extreme edge of a few leaves else internally very good-plus ; publisher's red cloth, gilt medallion to upper cover, spine lettered in gilt, slightly darkened with minimal soiling, spine ends bumped, rare cream dust-jacket, torn and split, small area of loss to spine, which is also darkened, general dust-soiling but sill a rare, unrestored survival.
