First German edition, large 4to (38.5 x 31 cm), 2 vols; engraved portrait of Nicholas II, 7 photogravures, 541 engravings after drawings and photographs, 5 chromolithograph maps, translated from the Russian by Hermann Brunnhofer, patterned endpapers, illegible ownership inscription to upper flyleaf dated 1929/30, a.e.g.; original publisher's fine cloth blue bindings, blindstamped in gilt and black, very minor rubbing to top and edge of spine, a fine set.
