An attractive copy of Wyld's hemisphere map of the Arctic regions, dedicated to Lady Franklin, in its original binding. The map can be approximately dated from the expeditions tracked: John Ross, James Ross, Parry, Franklin & Richards, Beechey, Back, Dease & Simpson, Rae, Kellet, Austin, Penny, Kennedy, and Inglefield. Inglefield's expedition being conducted in 1853. The later issue of the third edition includes the expeditions of McClure.

Third edition, early issue. Folding map backed with linen as issued, 45 x 39 cm., hand coloured in outline, original blindstamped olive green cloth, labels to covers, a very good copy.
