Vol. I: Istoriia lehionu Ukrains'kykh Sichovykh Stril'tsiv, 1914– 1919 [History of the legion of the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen, 1914–1919]. Vol II: Zoloti vorota: istoriia sichovykh stril'tsiv,
1917–1919 [The Golden Gate: a history of the Sich Rifle Corps, 1917–1919].
Lviv, Chervona Kalina, 1936-37.
Together, the volumes contain hundreds of photographs and were written and edited by leading figures of the Sich troops. Rare, especially complete. Vol. II includes a striking illustrated title by Pavlo Kovzhun, a leading figure of Ukrainian modernist art and book design.
First editions, 2 vols; large 8vo (24 x 18 cm); illustrated throughout, some loss of paper to margins of a few leaves; contemporary half calf with brown cloth boards, decoratively blindstamped in gilt, spine in parts with titles in gilt, hinges rubbed, some wear to binding but overall very good copies.
