The rare first edition of a monumental work, with a binding designed by one of the greatest Ukrainian graphic artists of the time, Pavlo Kovzhun. Krypiakevych was a noted historian and authored over 500 works on his beloved nation, including Great History of Ukraine (1935) and History of the Ukrainian Army (1936). The Institute of Ukrainain Studies at the National Academy in Lviv is named in his honour. This richly illustrated work contains extensive articles on literature, art, architecture, theatre and music.
