Three years after the first edition came out Colton issued this single volume edition which expanded the maps of Texas and Kansas with Nebraska to double pages. The same year Colton was forced into bankruptcy and the plates for this Atlas were bought by Johnson and Browning, who quickly produced several reprints. This, however, is the Colton production and of higher quality.
