One of 1000 copies, this being one of the first 500 copies with the envelope pasted to the rear pastedown containing a pamphlet, Notes on Ezra Pound's Cantos: Structure and Metric (Norfolk, Conn., New Directions, [1940]). The second 500 copies were issued without the envelope and pamphlet.
First American edition; 8vo; ownership signature to front free endpaper, slight age-toning, some offsetting to endpapers, else unmarked internally, with envelope containing pamphlet pasted to rear pastedown; publisher's black cloth, silver lettering to spine, slight fraying to spine ends, lacking dustjacket, else very good.
