A great first edition of the second book in the 'Legion of Space' series by Jack Williamson, a.k.a. the 'Dean of Science Fiction', comprising two novels, One Against the Legion and Nowhere Near, originally serialised in the magazine Astounding in 1936 and 1939, and later released as individual paperbacks by Pyramid Books.

This copy has been inscribed by Jack Williamson to fellow Sci-Fi author and historian Robert Weinberg, 'To Robert Weinberg all the blessed best Giles Habibula and Jack Williamson, NY Con 3.' (Giles Habibula was one of the main characters in the Legion of Space stories, a faintly Falstaffian figure).

First edition, 2 books in one, signed presentation copy from the author; 8vo; frontispiece by Edd Cartier, pictorial endpapers; publisher's blue cloth, dust-jacket with artwork by Cartier, a very good example.
