A fine edition compiled by the noted Austen scholar, R.W. Chapman, with extensive appendixes and addenda, including 'Miss Austen's English', 'Modes of Address', 'Carriages and Travel', 'The Topography of Bath' and a biographical note on the author, to name but a few.

Third edition thus, second impression; 6 volumes bound as five, 8vo (195 x 135 mm); with occasional half-tone plates, slight toning to extremities a few minor spots to endpapers, otherwise good; publisher's green cloth, edges of text blocks faintly spotted, top edge browned, pictorial dust-jackets,spine darkened, mild rubbing to extremities, the one on Mansfield Park chipped at extremities with a small stain to upper panel, otherwise good and overall a very presentable set.
