A presentation copy, inscribed in pencil on the top wrapper, which doubles as the title-page, 'Joseph Beuys für Heiner Bastian'. Comprising two interviews with Beuys by Helmut Rywelski, number 3 in the seires Einzelheiten Art Intermedia.
Heiner Bastian, gallery owner and collector, edited several books on Beuys and was a friend and collaborator from 1975 until Beuys' death. He, or another reader, has annotated this copy with occasional underlinings in sepia ink and marginal comments in blue ink.
First edition, limited to 500 copies, inscribed by Beuys; 4to (300 x 210 mm); publisher's printed and pictorial wrappers (20 leaves or 40 pp in total including two blank). stapled as issued, toned, the covers a touch finger-marked, otherwise very good; preserved in a near-contemporary, paper-covered solander box.
