A collection of Judaica bookplates (ex-libris) from the 18th to 20th centuries. Notable amongst these are the bookplates of various physicians, politicians and philanthropists, including Isaac Schomberg, M.D. (1753-1813), Herbert Henry Raphael (1859-1924), and the rabbi Solomon David Sassoon (1915-1985).
140 bookplates on paper, some facsimiles, ranging in size from 9.1 x 6.5 cm to 14 x 13 cm; text in English, Latin and Hebrew; printed in black and white, a few with handwritten inscriptions, featuring a variety of motifs, including coats of arms, Stars of David, and libraries; most in good condition, some with signs of wear, ageing, and dust-soiling, some fading to facsimiles; housed in green solander box with paper label to spine.
