Endpapers dated June 1879.Fourth edition. xxix, 406pp, 20 maps, 10 plans, and 7 panoramas, ink signature on front free endpaper, inner hinges slightly cracked, front map with small tear at edge (no loss of image); publisher's red cloth gilt, spine faded and worn ; overall a good copy.
