The author was the wife of Sir John Burdon , previously the Colonial Secretary of Barbados (Acting Governor 1910-11) who after their marriage became the administrator of St. Kitts and Nevis (1916-1925) He later became the Governor-General of British Honduras from 1925 to 1932.
First edition. 8vo ( 17.5 x 13 cm), viii, 247 pages folded frontispiece, 12 plates, 5 maps (some folded), folding plan, some pencilling inside; bound in publisher's blue cloth, gilt lettered, worn and faded; overall a good solid copy.
