First edition, first printing, signed by the author on the title page. The Ballantine paperback edition precedes the hardcover Gollancz edition by two years.

Winner of the so-called 'triple crown' of science fiction (it won Nebula Award in 1970 and both the Hugo and Lotus Awards in 1971), Niven's novel is considered a classic of the genre and tells of four explorers venturing across an enormous alien ring-shaped structure. It was later republished numerous times in hardback.

First edition, first printing, signed by the author on the title page; (178 x 108 mm, 7 x 4¼ in); text block toned as usual, else internally clean; publisher's adhesive-bound illustrated wrappers, reading creases to spine, crease to fore-edge corner of lower wrapper, upper wrapper with some faint impressed marks, a very good copy; 342pp.
