An account of a seventeen-month journey undertaken in 1904-5 by the Comte and Comtesse de Lesdain as a wedding tour. The Lesdains crossed Tibet from north to south through areas hitherto little known to Europeans, encountering little opposition from Tibetan officials.

First English edition. 8vo (22 x 14.5 cms), xii, 297pp,31 photographic plates and a folding map, slightly frayed at edges, heavy spotting to the preliminaries, red library cloth gilt.
