Founded in 1854 by George C. Nottage, the London Stereoscopic and Photographic Company was one of the most successful photographic companies of the nineteenth century. Selling photographic equipment and producing immense quantities of images, over 100,000 topographical photographs were advertised alone in 1858. William England their chief photographer travelled extensively producing stereoscopic views, most famously of the American landscape in 1859. They also advertised the fact the they were sole photographers to the International Exhibition of 1862.
Twenty-two albumen prints (300 x 350 cm), loose, mounted on original thick board, some toning but in the main very good, finger-soiling and the odd mark to some of the mounts but not affecting the photographs.
