An excellent first edition of The Abbess of Crew, in the dust jacket. The director Michael Lindsay-Hogg adapted the novel into his film Nasty Habits, released in 1977, starring Glenda Jackson and Melina Mercouri. This book is considered to be an allegorical treatment of the Watergate scandal.

First edition, first impression; 8vo; unmarked internally; publisher's black cloth, gilt lettering to spine, with the unclipped pictorial dust jacket by Linnet Gotch, very slight toning to jacket, minor shelf-wear to extremities.
