Pinhas Ben-Ami (born Pinhas Rutenberg, 1879-1942) was a Russian Jewish engineer, socialist political activist and revolutionary. He played an active role in the two Russian revolutions of 1905 and 1917. During WWI he was among the founders of the Jewish Legion and of the American Jewish Congress, at the same time he published his book The National Revival of the Jewish People under the pseudonym Ben-Ami (meaning 'son of my people'). This edition was translated from the original Russian to Yiddish.
