Brimley Johnson, small chip and closed tear to half-title of Pride & Prejudice, otherwise, very clean and bright; contemporary full, limp calf, the front covers blocked and embossed in blind and gilt, with emblematic motifs and the titles of the author's novels between bands of repeated Tudor rose-mounted 'A's and stags, the upper part with heraldic shields either side of a 'Hampshire Edition Jane Austen' heraldic shield, the rear covers blind-embossed with a church lozenge, titled map endpapers of the relevant county in which the respective novel is set, the set housed in the original publisher's, open-fronted case with hinged top bearing the author's name, varying degrees of browning and offsetting to endpapers, mild rubbing to bindings, a few marks and darkening to spines, historic repair to spine and reinforcement of upper hinge of 'Northanger Abbey, light dust-soiling to slip-case but in the main, very good indeed and internally near- fine.
