Comprehensive book written by Tyrnau in the 14th century, describing the Jewish customs of different communities and their codes of conduct for Shabbat and festivals. The book starts with Shabbat and continues in the order of the Jewish calendar. The text arranged in a single column in Vaybertaytsh script, except for headings and blessings, which are is vocalized square script. The book was written originally in Hebrew. As Tyrnau writes in the preface, his aim was to create a common 'minhag' [custom]. From the library of Simon Ascher (b. 1906), son of the Swiss Rabbi Dr Yechiel Michal Halevi Ascher (Maurice Halevi Ascher).

8vo, later marbled boards, rubbed; a few early 20th century German bookmarks and a German 'thank you for attending my 90th birthday card' dated 1896; previous owners stamp to front inner cover; text in Yiddish and Hebrew; 58 ll.
