First edition of the author's first book, not issued in this form in America. With the contemporary ownership inscription to half title page of, 'Edward J. O'Brien November 12th, 1920 Secretum meum mihi'. E. J. O'Brien was probably the most influential anthologist and editor of his generation, responsible for publishing Scott Fitzgerald and Hemingway amongst many others, in the UK for the first time. Books from his library were circulated in the '80s and early '90s. Few of them however were as interesting as this.First edition, sole impression; 8vo; portrait frontispiece, foxing throughout as usual; publisher's buff wrappers, blue paper title label to front wrapper printed in black, a very decent copy.
