The strikingly dramatized scenes depicted were evidently chosen by Davenport to give a romantic view of Ali Pacha's life. The text was taken from Beauchamp's Life of Ali Pacha.
First edition, folio (41 x 29.5 cm), pp 9-30, [2] publisher's list, 6 hand-coloured aquatint plates including frontispiece by G. Hunt after Davenport, all captioned, uncut in original brown boards, original lettering label to upper copy, neatly rebacked, light marks to boards, a very good example.
