Very scarce. The journey was beset with bad weather, and the ship rolled dramatically in the Bay of Biscay. The book features several scenes consequent to this; trying to dine, sea-sickness, etc.

Robert Seymour, (1798–1836), prolific illustrator and caricaturist, started out as an etcher but turned to lithography in 1830. He worked extensively for the publisher Thomas McLean, and can be considered to be in the first rank of British comic artists.

First edition. 4to., 14 hand-coloured lithograph plates on 8 sheets, 10 hand-coloured vignettes on india paper tipped-in, contemporary tan morocco-backed marbled boards, original titled paper cover to upper boards, an excellent copy.
