First edition of this partly autobiographical novel by the author of Goodbye to Berlin (1939, inspiration for the musical/film Cabaret) and A Single Man (1964), which established him as a key author within the Gay Liberation Movement.

First edition, first printing, first issue binding; 8vo; portrait frontispiece of the author, some offsetting to endpapers, light spotting early and late; publisher's blue cloth, black lettering to spine, some spotting to spine, with the unclipped pictorial dustjacket by A. Medley, spine tanned, mild sunning to edge, else very good.
