Presentation copy. Presentation copy of this collaboration between Harold Burdekin and John Morrison, who assisted him in making the photographs. In his introduction, Morrison writes, 'Night, M. Paul Morand has remarked with Gallic shrewdness, is not the negative of day,' a reference to Brassaï's Paris de Nuit (1932), which influenced several similar publications, including the present work and Bill Brandt's A Night in London (1938).
