Signed by the author. For this work, Ishiuchi documented some of her mother's intimate possessions, symbols of femininity such as undergarments and make-up that were left behind. She combines these colour photographs with black-and-white nude details that she made of her mother in the year before she died. 'The overwhelming identification of photography with memento mori, with dreams, desires, memory, history and death, is once more eloquently displayed in this beautiful, touching little book' (The Photobook).
