The first section is devoted to Switzerland. The second section covers the Alps of Savoy and Piedmont. This practice continued until the sixteenth edition when this title was published in two volumes. The views include Mont Blanc and the Bernese Alps.
Fifth edition. pp. lxvi, 406, 24 adverts dated 1853, 4 maps and views, all folded; publisher's brown cloth gilt; a very attractive copy.
