INDIANA, Robert

2012
Today, Indiana's 'HOPE' is perhaps most closely associated with Barack Obama's 2008 Presidential campaign. At the time, all proceeds raised from the sale of this work went towards Obama's campaign. This was an overt display of his support for the Democrat and his faith in the positive potential of Obama's candidacy. Indiana always held the belief that his art should work to promote positive political and social change: 'I wanted to help name and empower the next generation and I felt that HOPE encompassed the needs of our time.' — Robert Indiana.
