London, Witherby, 1927-36.
Robinson was able to complete the first two volumes before his death in 1929. With the help of Robinson's notes and papers, the third and fourth volumes were prepared by Frederick Nutter Chasen, the Director of the Raffles Museum in Singapore. A fifth volume, delayed by Chasen's death in 1942, was finally completed by Lord Medway and David Wells in 1976.
First edition, 3 vols (of 5); 75 plates (most in colour) by H. Gronvold, 11 maps, occasional light spotting, original red cloth, top edge gilt, a very good set.
