Jan Herman's San Francisco Earthquake featured avant-garde writers and concrete and beat poets, many of whom were connected with Fluxus. From 1972–1974, Herman was editor-in-chief of Dick Higgins' Something Else Press.

Contributor's include William Burroughs, Robert Duncan, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Frank O'Hara, Herbert Hunke, Michael McClure, Claude Pelieu, Ed Ruscha, Ed Sanders, Carl Solomon, and Carl Weissner.

Periodical, 5 vols. [No. 1-4] (approx 212 x 137 mm, 8¼ x 5½ in); adhesive-bound illustrated wrappers, covers rubbed and toned, subscription forms laid in to nos 1-3, Nova Broadcast Press publisher's ephemera laid in [No.5] three broadsheet newsprint leaves (576 x 760 mm, 22¾ x 30 in), toned, machine-folded four times and laid in to printed card covers (200 x 152 mm, 7¾ x 6 in), rubbed and lightly worn, offsetting from newsprint, an very good set; various paginations.
