The Abbé Théophile Moreux (1867-1954) was founder of the Bourges Observatory at the Seminary of St. Célestin. He made a particular study of the Sun and its effects on the Earth, participating in a number of expeditions to view eclipses, and was also interested in surface features of the Moon and Mars and the possibility of life on other planets. The present volume covers all aspects of lunar science, including observations taken by the ancients, what can be learned by the eye and the telescope, the lunar landscape, and the Moon's effects on the tides and weather.
