A scarce collection of Ukrainian songs, with a cover designed by Pavlo Kovzhun. The cover design features a Hutsul shepherd playing a trembita and holding a valashka, both symbols on Carpathian cultural identity. A trembita is a traditional horn used by highlanders to communicate with other villages across the mountains and forest as well as guiding their sheep and dogs. Of the 209 songs featured most are folk songs, but there are also a few by notable writers such as Shevchenko, Franko and Bohdan Lepkyi.

First edition, 16mo (16.1 x 12.3 cm); 150pp.; original printed wrappers designed by Kovzhun, wrappers a little foxed otherwise a very good copy.
