Decorative celestial chart illustrating the northern skies, the corners of the chart are decorated with vignettes of the astronomical observatories at Tycho Brahe (Denmark), Paris, Hevelius (Poland) and Nürnberg. The tables on both sides explain the constellations on the map.

Johann Gabriel Doppelmayr was a German mathematician, astronomer, and cartographer.

Original hand-coloured, double-page engraved celestial map, blank on verso, paper size: 550 mm x 633 mm, image to plate mark: 495 mm x 593 mm.
