Typed Letter Signed to S. Clay Wilson.

TLS from Beat writer William S. Burroughs to the influential underground cartoonist, S. Clay Wilson. Wilson's scenes, often violent and sexually explicit, were greatly admired by Burroughs, and Wilson went on to illustrate the German editions of Burroughs' Cities of The Red Night and The Wild Boys. In this piece of correspondence, Burroughs informs Wilson of his plans to travel to the West Coast (referred to as the 'Western Front'), and inquires whether he knows of anyone who might produce or sponsor a reading in San Francisco. "I trust you not to deliver me to Bill Graham–or why not?"

Typed letter, signed in blue ink; (105 x 233 mm, 4¼ x 9¼ in), folded twice, in an airmail envelope, stamped and addressed to S. Clay Wilson, sealed but neatly opened at right edge.
